Son of George Hepburn ( - 00/00/1601) and Helen Hepburn (00/00/1580 - 00/00/1598)
Elder brother Sir James Hepburn served under his cousin Sir john Hepburn in Germany and France. This Sir John served King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden commanding the mercenery Scottish Brigade.He changed sides to King Louis of France & Cardinal Richelieu who then proceeded to win the Thirty Years War. (Oberammagau). He was promoted to Marshal of France and died and is buried at Toul Cathederal. his tomb was desecarated duting the French Revolution, I (w.g.w.) hold a bound biography of Sir John, the founder of the 1st. of Foot-The Royal Scots.
