Ichabod, the second son, born in 1700, is described as a banker, who owned lands in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. This member of the family, so far as I have been able to make out, was originally engaged in the Baltic trade, and late in his life, about the year 1760, he devoted a portion of his wealth to the establishment of Wright’s Bank, taking his two sons into partnership.
This, the first of the family, who was christened Ichabod, is also buried in the precincts of St. Mary’s Church.
